LAUNDRY AND UTILITY AREAS
1. MAKE SURE MACHINE GUARDS, INTERLOCKS AND OTHER SAFETY DEVICES
ARE IN PLACE BEFORE STARTING EQUIPMENT.
2. WAIT UNTIL WASHER OR DRYER IS STOPPED BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO UNLOAD.
3. KEEP HANDS FROM MOUTH AND EYES WHEN HANDLING SOILED LINED AND
CLOTHING. WASH HANDS BEFORE EATING OR DRINKING.
4. CLEAN THE CLOTHES DRYING UNIT FILTER SCREENS ON A SCHEDULED BASIS.
5. WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN IMMERSING HANDS INTO ANY STRONG
DETERGENT OR CLEANING AGENT.
6. REPORT ANY LEAKING OR DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT TO YOUR SUPERVISOR.
DIETARY
1. HEAVIER AND BULKIER ITEMS SHOULD BE STORED ON LOWER SHELVES.
2. ASK FOR HELP WHEN LIFTING HEAVY ITEMS.
3. ALL SPILLS SHOULD BE CLEANED UP IMMEDIATELY.
4. USE EXTREME CAUTION WITH KNIVES. CUT AWAY FROM THE BODY. KEEP
KNIVES SHARP AND STORE THEM IN THEIR PROPER PLACE.
LET FALLING KNIVES FALL; DO NOT TRY TO CATCH THEM.
5. USE PADDED GLOVES OR POTHOLDERS TO HANDLE HOT KETTLES, POTS
AND PANS.
6. USE 'PUSHERS' ON GRINDERS AND SLICERS. USE MACHINE GUARDS.
7. KEEP HANDLES OF POTS AND PANS TURNED AWAY FROM THE EDGE
OF THE STOVE.
8. DISCARD CHIPPED OR CRACKED GLASS OR CHINAWARE.
9. DO NOT OVERLOAD TRAYS OR LIQUID CONTAINERS.
10.KEEP TO THE RIGHT WHEN WHEELING FOOD CARTS IN HALLS.
MAINTENANCE
1. KEEP SHOP WORK AREAS CLEAN AND ORDERLY.
2. USE SAFETY EQUIPMENT APPROPRIATE TO THE HAZARDS THE JOB
SAFETY GLASSES, FACE SHIELD, GLOVES.
3. STORE FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS IN APPROVED SAFETY CANS IN APPROVED AREAS
4. DO NOT PERMIT MATERIAL SUCH AS LADDERS, LUMBER, PAINT CANS,ETC;
TO BE LEFT IN PASSAGEWAYS, STAIRWAYS, HALLS OR ROOMS.
5. USE AND MAINTAIN ADEQUATE GUARDING FOR ALL MACHINERY.
POINT OF OPERATION AND POWER TRANSMISSION.
6. ESTABLISH A REGULAR EQUIPMENT PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND
INSPECTION PROGRAM TO ENSURE SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION.
7. LOCK OUT ALL MACHINE CONTROL SWITCHES BEFORE SERVICING
OR MAKING REPAIRS.
8. MAKE SURE POWER TOOLS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION WITH POWER CORDS
IN GOOD CONDITION.
9. SELECT THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB. MAKE SURE TOOLS ARE
IN GOOD CONDITION.
10.BLOCK OFF AREAS OF WORK TO PROTECT OTHERS.
11.USE ONLY WOODEN OR APPROVED NON-CONDUCTIVE LADDERS FOR ELECTRICAL
REPAIRS.
12.DO NOT ATTEMPT A MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR JOB THAT YOU ARE NOT
QUALIFIED OR TRAINED TO DO.
